Tears mix with sweat on my cheek as I look ahead.
I have crested the mountain and the land reaches out into eternity.
My body aches with the pain from the last miles.
My mind is reeling in disbelief at what I’ve done.
For a perfect, silent moment I smile at the universe, and it smiles back.
That moment, pushing into eternity is fragile, a mere bubble upon the wind.
But it is everything, it is forever.
The tears flow like a river and fall to the ground, merging with the earth and letting it know that I was here.
I did this. I conquered. I survived.
